Integrado nas comemorações do Bicentenário da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa (FMUL), o evento internacional Global Medical Education at the Bicentennial reunirá, no próximo dia 24 de setembro de 2025, especialistas de diversas geografias e instituições de renome para debater os desafios e as inovações no ensino médico à escala global.
Com início às 08h30 no Grande Auditório João Lobo Antunes, o encontro contará com a participação de representantes de faculdades de medicina de países como Macau, Brasil, Moçambique e Angola, bem como com contributos da Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians. A manhã incluirá uma série de intervenções institucionais e académicas, culminando com a conferência principal a cargo de Paul Peter Tak (Candel Therapeutics e FMUL), intitulada “Viral Immunotherapy: A New Therapeutic Strategy to Induce Systemic Anti-Tumor Immunity”.
O evento constituirá um espaço privilegiado de encontro e partilha, reforçando o papel da FMUL na construção de redes internacionais de colaboração e inovação médica. O encerramento dos trabalhos será seguido de um almoço informal de networking, promovendo o diálogo entre docentes, investigadores e estudantes de diferentes contextos culturais e científicos.
As part of the celebrations for the bicentenary of the Lisbon School of Medicine (FMUL), the international event Global Medical Education at the Bicentennial will bring together experts from various countries and renowned institutions on 24th September 2025 to discuss the challenges and innovations in medical education on a global scale.
Starting at 8:30 a.m. in the João Lobo Antunes Grand Auditorium, the meeting will be attended by representatives from medical schools in countries such as Macau, Brazil, Mozambique, and Angola, as well as contributions from Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians. The morning will include a series of institutional and academic presentations, culminating in the keynote lecture by Paul Peter Tak (Candel Therapeutics and FMUL), entitled ‘Viral Immunotherapy: A New Therapeutic Strategy to Induce Systemic Anti-Tumour Immunity’.
The event will provide a privileged space for meeting and sharing, reinforcing FMUL's role in building international networks of collaboration and medical innovation. The closing of the proceedings will be followed by an informal networking lunch, promoting dialogue between teachers, researchers and students from different cultural and scientific backgrounds.
